The treble clef
One more look at what you missed.
Music is written on five lines: the staff.
The lines and the four spaces between them are places for notes. A note sits on a line or in a space.
Hear a note from the bottom of the staff, then the top.
No sound? Check your volume, and that your phone is not on silent.
Higher on the staff means higher in sound.
A note near the top line sounds higher than a note near the bottom line.
Top line or bottom line: which note sounds higher?
The treble clef tells you which line is which.
Its curl wraps around the second line from the bottom. A note on that line is G, so it is also called the G clef.
This is the G on the curl's line.
Every note on the second line sounds like this.
Which line does the treble clef curl around?
Find G on the keyboard and play it.
G is the white key between the first two black keys of a group of three.
Find the line the curl wraps around. A note on it is G.
You can read the treble clef's line.
