Major or minor chord?
One more look at what you missed.
Major sounds bright. Minor sounds darker.
The only difference is the third: four semitones above the root, or three. Your ear hears that one semitone as a change of colour.
The same root, both colours.
No sound? Check your volume, and that your phone is not on silent.
Bright or dark: which chord is this?
Now each chord slowly, note by note.
The first jump is the third. Four semitones opens “When the Saints Go Marching In”; three opens “Greensleeves”.
Listen for the colour first. If unsure, hum the chord from the bottom note up.
Most songs use both kinds of chord.
A happy song still has minor chords, and a sad one has major chords. The next units show where each one sits.
One more: bright or dark?
