Far apart
One more look at what you missed.
Some sounds are high, some are low.
A bird sings high and a big drum sounds low. How high or low a sound is, is called its pitch.
Listen to a low note, then a high one.
These two are far apart, so the difference is easy to hear.
No sound? Check your volume, and that your phone is not on silent.
Which one is higher?
On a piano, low is left and high is right.
Each key to the right sounds a little higher. In this unit your ears do the work, not your eyes.
Play a key on the left, then one far to the right.
Then try the other way round. The right one is always higher.
Two notes can go up or go down.
First low then high, then high then low.
Now the other question: which one is lower?
You can hear high and low.
What you learned
- How high or low a sound is, is its pitch.
- On a piano, low notes are on the left and high notes on the right.
- With two notes far apart, you can tell which is higher and which is lower.
